This Syrah is always the first lots picked off of the Split Rock Ranch vineyard site and is typically one of the first red lots to come in to the ONX facility. This particular vintage is showing great structure and complexity and is definitely one that will reward patience and aging!
The wine initially exudes savory, mouthwatering notes of exotic game and smoked fowl, which soon turns into a veneer of delicious dark fruits like plum, açaí, and fig.
Two weeks before our 2016 harvest, a wildfire broke out south of Lake Nacimiento in Paso Robles and quickly spread toward our home and vineyards at Split Rock Ranch.
